Aerospace and Internships and Downton

So, I just realized that I never made a post about whether or not I was accepted in the Aerospace Engineering program at my school.

I was.

And the Facebook post that says so currently has 63 likes and 8 comments. My mom posted something about me getting in and hers has 69 likes. How is that even possible? But I suppose that a lot of the people who "liked" mine also "liked" hers; family and family friends and such.

I'm not as excited as I thought I would be, now that I actually have a real major. But then again, it never really was a possibility that I wouldn't get in. I mean, technically, I might not have gotten in since I was guaranteed entrance. But I was so close that I was pretty much in. I guess I'm just relieved that I can actually tell people a real major now instead of the usual conversation:
"What's your major?"
"Engineering."
"Oh. What kind?"
"Hopefully aerospace."
"Oh, cool."

Now I can just skip to saying, "Aerospace engineering." So, that's good.

Yesterday, I spent a loooooooong time applying for a bunch of different engineering internships online. I think I applied for 8 at various NASA centers and I e-mailed a lady about an internship in Puerto Rico. So, hopefully something pans out. My ideal internship would be with this awesome company called Ball Aerospace. Their HQ is in Boulder, Colorado and my friend/mentor, Brandi, works for them. I've applied for 5 internships there, but they only take, like, 45 interns every summer. And I had that interview with Gulfstream a few weeks ago that turned out to be a dud. But the lady said that she would recommend me to other departments that take sophomores. Meh. I just really don't want to be stuck at home again this summer.

And now I'm going to get off my computer and continue watching the beautiful show Downton Abbey with my mother and mayhaps eat some soup.
