So, I just finished watching the first episode of the second season of Supernatural (titles will just be capitalized, not underlined or italicized (I'm tired)).
I cried. I literally cried. There were tears coming out of my sight-globes and my sinuses got all clogged up and it was gross. I was gross-crying. Not like when I watched The Notebook. I only got a single tear out when I watched The Notebook. I'm talking, like, when you go back and watch the library episodes of Doctor Who in series 4 when it's still 10 and Donna and you know who River Song is and you know she's gonna die because she goes in reverse order but you still think, maybe, maybe she'll live, just this once, but you know it can't be and The Doctor doesn't even know who she is and she's his WIFE and he watches her die and he has know idea and your heart breaks into a million tiny pieces (metaphorically) and all you can do is sit there and cry and scream, "WHY MUST YOU DO THESE THINGS TO ME, MOFFAT? WHY?"
That's how this episode of Supernatural felt. It was also half anticipation because I knew it was coming. I knew he was going to die. And if he comes back later, don't tell me. I enjoy these feelings, in hind-sight. But I know about Cas and I'm impatient to meet him. When does he come in? But, wait. Don't tell me. It's probably better if I just get him when I get there.
In lighter news, Doctor Who and Game of Thrones are both coming back at the end of this month, so that's good. Maybe. Now I really won't get any work done. I'm hoping to finish Gossip Girl sometime this week, since I'm home for "spring" break. I say "spring" because 1) it's not spring and 2) we're supposed to get a huge snowstorm tomorrow. But, yeah, Gossip Girl. I'm almost done season 5, I think. Louis and Blair just got married (the jerk), and now I need to know what happens, but not so desperately that I've watched it since then. It's not like the end of season 3 where I HAD to know what happened after. I gross-cried during that episode, too. I should make a list of all of the tv episodes that have made me cry.
Another show I've been watching lately is Arrested Development with Jason Bateman and Michael Cera and other people whose names I should remember but don't. I'm not really emotionally invested in any of the characters in that show just because it's so light and funny. It's a good reprieve from my other shows. Kinda like Friends was before I did actually start getting attached...But anyways.
I also recently watched the first episode of The Tudors. It was kind of strange and really sexual, but I enjoy the "history" of it. The only thing is it's like Sherlock in the fact that each episode is an hour and a half long. It's not one of those shows where you can just plop down for 20 minutes and watch an episode. That's what Arrested Development is for. But I do want to watch more of The Tudors. And Torchwood. I watched the first episode of that show a while ago and finally got around to watching the second. That show is also very sexual, if the second episode is anything to go by. But I do love me some John Barrowman.
I just got the show From the Earth to the Moon from my friend Sean a few days ago. It's about the Apollo 12 mission to the moon. I haven't started watching it yet. It's only one season long. And I should probably also watch Firefly so I know what Victoria and our friend Jon are talking about. I've probably seen, altogether, something the length of an episode of Firefly, but I've never actually seen a full episode.
And now I'm going to go to bed because it's late and I'm doing things in the morrow.
SUPERNATURAL IS SO GOOD AND YOU ARE A DELIGHTFUL HUMAN BEING. Also, the seasons are really long, like twenty-odd episodes apiece, so there will be times when you're just gonna be like, "I'M DROWNING IN FEELS I CAN'T DO THIS" but you must slog through! You must do it! It's so worth it. (PS I'm not even done with SPN yet and I've been watching since August but I'm really slow about watching TV shows.
ReplyDeleteI recommend Merlin to you, if you haven't heard about it already- but watch SPN first. :)
Yeah, I watched the first two seasons of Merlin "last year" as in first semester. My comparative literature professor showed us a few clips when we were talking about the King Arthur legends. I need to get back into that show. My friends Mike and Erinn are both obsessed with it. And now my mom made me watch the first three episodes of Downton Abbey, so there's another show for me to watch.
